Allow myself to introduce...myself.

Hi, I'm Mark, and I just bought a 2005 620 from a friend. Of course, I need to put it together first. It is a neck, body, and pickups (toasters). Today, I purchased knobs, an upper and lower pickguard, and a toggle switch. I will be building my own wiring harness. I will eventually get a truss cover and jackplate, too.

I play guitar in a pop band, a rock/metal band, and a dream pop band. I am primarily a Strat player, although I play a Les Paul Custom and a Parker in the rock outfit.

I played Ricks in the music stores when I was a kid. I was impressed then by the mellow-yet-determined tone. What can I expect out of a 620? It sounds like I can expect thicker jangly tones out of the toasters...what sort of music are you guys playing with your Ricks?

Your new hi-gain pickups are hot enough for metal, power pop, blues or whatever you want to throw at them. They can do Strat, Tele, or P90 sounds and more on a solidbody guitar. I have a milder version of the hi-gains in my two thirty-year-old ricks, both of them screamers as well. I play all kinds of styles on my ricks from hard rock to easier things and I find that with the proper amp choice and settings they are the most versatile guitars I've ever owned. The 320's tonal palette is astounding. The hi-gains also work great with stomp boxes.

For toasters and rick HB pickups I can't speak, except for the music we've all heard from the sixties' toasters on some famous guitars. Maybe someone else can speak up for the humbuckers ...
