It's quite alright, Mel. I find Facebook much more easier to use than Myspace.

Jake --- Your Facebook ---- no listing of Rickenbackers
But you mention favorite products Fender, Gibson and Gretsch :( :( ?

And no mention of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers ?? :( :(

What gives ?? :?: Is this a different Jake then the one we know :?: :?:

Rickenbacker is on there...plus I'm in a few Rickenbacker related groups.

Is my profile public? I swear I set it as private...

Not meaning to be the fart in the elevator, but I don't understand how these social sites work. MySpace, for one, won't even load properly on my machine (which is no slouch) so I've not been able to figure out what the activity is about, except for sending messages amongst friends ... I dunno, could someone explain to me why I would want to spend time on Facebook? :)

You hit the nail on the head, Kira. Not to mention, you have games you can play on them, you can show photos of yourself and your interests. Facebook also has it's own instant messenger, where you can IM your friends.

It's weird, I have quite a few people on my Facebook (who I HAVE heard of) who I've never talked to. they just added me just because I went to the same school as them. :P

I'm with Kira on these sites. Other than providing a place to post pictures and such, it seems to me that there's nothing there that e-mail & other IM services don't provide. I've got a facebook profile because of a few relatives of mine who use it. For the most part, they send me messages, I get an e-mail telling me I have a message. Hmm, why not just send me an e-mail in the first place?

I guess us "old farts" just don't get this new-fangled internet stuff...

Oh, by the way, I've been using the "net" since about 1976 when it was called the ARPAnet and you could fit a map of every machine easily on a sheet of paper, long before Al Gore invented it...

It's another social networking sight designed to suck up endless amounts of time, one of which I'm guilty of participating in! :D

I post gigs on both my space and facebook, which saves some of the trouble of posting flyers everywhere, so it saves, time, paper, and ink.

Ah, maybe if I had a social life it would find its appeal with me.

Hmm, you've got a point there...

Probably the same with me, but since I live where nobody else does, I suppose I really should try for a social life on line...

Oh wait! That's what the RRF is, right???
