Thanks, Paul. My favorites are the first retouch - the bleached wood with gold hardware & white pickguard, the solid white with gold hardware and white PG, and the last - the solid white with all gold plated hardware.

Wes - I just took the shots against a white background. Makes it easy to crop & fade out any unwanted background distractions.

I've got that much, but how do you stand em up? I've seen people hang by wire, use clear stands, etc

I just lay them on the ground and took the picture from above. You could also lean them up against a wall instead of using a stand.

The origin of the white backround is more interesting. If You buy Prosciutto di Parma in the cuts, this is a pearl glossy white separating foil. So I made probably first toaster pick-up with the ham flavour

After lurking here for a while (not too much to offer – just absorbing) I have to say – you all amaze me as much as the wood-work folks do making a block of wood into a bass. I have dabbled (have a few 35mm bodies and lenses and an underwater camera… sitting around) but you all show some really amazing artistry. Regardless of shooting (i.e., Jeff) or editing (i.e., Mark), I have to say you all (and some of the others here) have probably forgotten more than I will ever know about this stuff. Thanks for being great sources of info – and love the web sites!!!
