I really need to find a good quality case for my 480.

Since getting hold of an original one probably isn't going to happen, can anyone recommend a modern generic type that fits?

g&g makes one that fits 480 and 481...http://www.ggqualitycase.com/ ... i don't remember the model but it is black tolex case - it has center compartment...my 481 came with it....same goes for gator cases they sure make something that fits...when looking at uk sites i came up with this:http://www.djmmusic.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=GCXP01&eq=&Tp= it is for gibson explorer so it should fit but better ask for some specs first...

I remember, and its right here...its silver ext ,and black interior. fits like a glove.
