I always liked the capri style guitars of the 50's,especially the thick body prototypes as well as the first 381 and 384.My favorite one is the flat topped thick body found on pg.104 in the smith book.Who owns these cool guitars? What ever happened to them. Are they still at the factory?Does anyone have any current pictures of these guitars?

Most likely in the museum display at the factory, or at John Hall's personal studio.

I'm lucky enough to have a prototype from 1969. I think it was a follow on from the 360F series, but Mr Hall might be able to elaborate. I've attached some pics for your viewing pleasure.... Image

ditto...even though it is a guitar, what the hell, I'm a hack guitar player too. I could be good if I bought one, maybe I should huh? What you you guys recommend as a good all around Ric guitar? I like everything from surf, to punk to blues to jazz, haha!

I don't know where the ones on page 104 are these days. I do have one, unfortunately, the headstock was broken in the Northridge earthquake, the only damage we had.

There's many more photos of these you'll have access to soon but for now I'll leave you with this one:
