In praise of the 650

Hi all,

I've just bought a second hand 650S. and I can't believe how great the guitar is to play.

I've had a 330 for years because of Johnny Marr. But up 'til now I've always used a Telecaster as well

I couldn't really afford it and I'll be on bread and water until my next pay cheque but I'm delighted.

Long live the 650!

Phil

Hey, Phil, welcome!

So many ricks, so little time!

I've never spent much time with a 650 but they sure look sweet and everyone raves like you about theirs. Congratulations! I'd love to see a picture of it if you can manage it. :)

Thanks Kira,

Here's a picture. It doesn't really do it justice though.

Wow! I love the maple fretboard. Is that a trans black finish, or maybe it's the light. I'd love to check it out. Like I said, I've hardly ever seen one. I've got to get to one of these confluences for real pretty soon. Not only no ricks in my little berg, but they've started selling fake ricks at my local shop  If I ever get into San Francisco again I bet I could find one, though.

Thanks everyone.

In my excitement I made a mistake. The wood is much darker. It's a 650 Frisco.

Phil.......Props comin' your way on the new addition to the family. Gibson 'buckers notwithstanding, I just dig the Ric 'buckers on my 650 Dakota. They are the quietest (noiseless) I've ever played. Keep on keepin' on.......Goofyfoot.
