Haha.
Well, that's what I get for not being in the know.
I'll have to stand in the corner with my Thingamagoop and pretend I'm with the "in" crowd.
*me and my Thingamagoop just sitting idle in the corner pretending we're cool...
... That's kinda hard to do when this thing makes the most irritating sounds.

My point exactly.

I'd send it to Davy Jones' locker in a heartbeat.

What a piece of rubbish!!
They've ripped off my 'Thingamajig' design and reduced it to a freakin' toy!!
Hope they don't get wind of my 'Doohickey' upgrade to the 'Thingamajig'...... that'll really **** me off!!

Didn't Mr. Spock have one of those?
What a waste of time.

I built one of those back in '64, sonny boy. A variable frequency audio oscillator. A couple of transistors, a few resistors and caps, a pot and a small speaker scavenged from a pocket radio, jammed into a small project box. We called it an "Etch", and it had a high irritation and, "what the hell was THAT?" factor.
We were easily excitable back then...

Yeah, I've built a few things like that several decades ago too, but never incorporated a photo sensor and a light source for feedback...
Sonny boy? Well, OK, I'm only a bit past the half century mark, but I still refuse to act my age!
