Wow, I just discovered this gold mine. Every issue of
The New Yorker back to 1925 is freely accessible to you and me, either in txt or digital scans. Registration is free and takes all of ten seconds. I just found the issue with Dorothy Parker's
"The Waltz" with original illustrations 
What a real treasure online. Go get it, guys!

I've had this on CD-ROM for a couple of years now. Got it as a prize from KQED for signing up.
But the Rolling Stone CD-ROM set is getting my attention these days! Got it brand new at a bookstore near here for $50.00. Whatta goldmine!
The SEARCH function is terrific.

And in 20 years, we'll all be old farts and the technology will be a factorial of 8 better than it is now.
I grew up with GI Joe with a kung-fu grip and now GI Joe has his own movie and will likely have video game tie-ins and the "doll" will have lasers for eyes shooting out...
And that's just one toy that's tons better than when I was a kid.
