Well, in trying to rename the Swine Flu to something more politically correct, so not to upset our Jewish and Moslem friends, they went through a brief foray into the possibility of calling it the Mexican Flu (I guess it's OK to offend Mexicans

). Anyway, they finally came up with a new official name, the H1N1 Flu...

Was it Pete or Roger that did this?

The Who would raise the alert to 11.

Yes, I know the "goes to 11" meme comes from Spinal Tap, but since the Who were known as the loudest band ever (weren't they?) I thought a status level of 5 wasn't fitting for them.
This discussion has got me thinking of Disaster Area

Maybe they could call it "Zebra Flu" . In Israel when non religious jews eat "the other white meat" they refer to it as "Zebra"(I learned this from Cleo Odzer).

I've heard that in Germany, in order to help prevent people from avoiding pork products (which have nothing to do with swine flu), they are calling it the American Flu...
Meanwhile, in Egypt (I think that's where it was) they are having a wholesale slaughter of all pigs in the country. Sometimes I think the human race is actually getting stupider as time goes by...

They changed the name to discourage slaughter of pigs and fear of eating pork products, not because of religious groups.

In any case, despite what the W.H.O. says, I'm not going to panic or anything:

I'm going to make sure I have some room in the freezer for the inevitable upcoming sale on pork...

In Rock History 101 (i.e. going to the guitar shop and listening to the detached salesmen blather amongst themselves) I was taught that Blue Cheer were the loudest.
