Has anyone ran their Rick with one input to clean amp setting and the other input to effects and maybe a bit of drive and then found a nice blend of the 2 sounds?
What are you using that works well?

I take it you mean outputs? and also refering to the 2 jacks on a deluxe model?

If so, they can't be used simultaneously. The RIck-O-Sound Jack goes to a stereo to 2 mono splitter that can be used to do precisely what you mean.

That's where I was headed.
Have you tried to blend two different sounds with your Rick?

Slightly off topic, but has anyone ever put a Rick-O-Sound jack on a 330(in place of the mono jack)? Would a stereo jack also work mono, if you had a 1/4" stereo to mono cable?

I actually don't use the Ric-o-sound but a splitter off the mono jack on my 360.
The Ric-o-sound is a great idea but I just haven't used it and opted for the splitter when I want 2 sounds.

I used to run the treble pickup through a guitar amp with effects and the neck pickup into a good old bass combo clean. Wow! It was like having a partner doubling me. I loved it. My rhythm player looked like Bambi in the headlights when he heard it.

I've experimented with a couple different ROS combinations. It's nice to mix it up.

So you go from the ROS > POG > POD > DRRI. And that is just for one of the pickups, right?

I converted my 330/12 to a 340/12 and have the ability to run it in a dual-mono mode. It has toasters at the neck and bridge positions on the standard 5-knob 330 system and a toaster-cover-converted-high-gain in the middle with just a volume control. They all run to a stereo jack and a Y-cord. From there you have two totally separate outputs to play with through different amps, channels, effects, etc. If you don't feel like messing with the dual-mono thing, you simply plug a regular guitar cord into it and it works the same as a stock 330 system. There are some interesting options with the dual system. I think they're most helpful when you are looking for moderate changes or subtle effects and mix in some unaltered sound on one line with something run through effects on the other line. I very oftem mix a JangleBox on the neck/bridge circuit with a normal signal on the mid pickup circuit. Sometimes also a chorus or reverb pedal or tremolo on one side (I don't use much overdrive on twelves). The sixth knob on the middle pickup lets me dial in as much unaltered tone as desired into the mix and the knob to adjust it is right there in easy reach on the pickguard. Works quite well. My 360/12 is rigged similarly, but uses both output jacks at once and a double Y cord or two cords.

I started doing this on some of my basses in 1972 and it generates some tones that you simply can't get with a single, mono output. Back in those days, most of our amps (Fender Twins, Super Reverbs, Bassmen, Bandmasters, Acoustic Control Corp. amps, some Sunns, etc.) were dual-channel heads. These days they aren't as common on new amp designs (especially bass amps) so it gets more complicated if you aren't interested in dragging a second amp around. When recording, I always use two tracks for bass and two for the twelves. It gives greater adjustability later when you mix the tune.

I thought JDog had a 330 with double outputs, and one was mounted on the guard.
