It would be cool, but we'd need all of the other technobabble stuff they talk about on the show, such as "intertial dampeners" so the explorers wouldn't be reduced to pulp when the warp drive's engaged, as well as some sort of "deflector shield" to keep space junk from destroying the ship as it travels at warp speed. One huge sort of power source would be needed as well.

The problem is the theory of relativity, as he mentioned - the faster you go, the greater the disparity between your time and the time on Earth. If a spacecraft flew to the next galaxy in 5 minutes and returned, Earth could be hundreds of years into the future.

I don't think you'd need "inertial dampeners" with what he was describing, because you wouldn't actually be accelerating in your spacetime - spacetime in front of and behind you would be warping.

Perhaps the fact that the ship remains in a bubble of its own spacetime is the answer. Still, if you went faster than light, you'd see some weird stuff. You'd actually be able to watch yourself arriving after you'd arrived!

This speculation is only relative should light actually turn out to be the governing factor in space travel. Remember, we are putting boundaries on the beliefs of a community that was convinced the earth was flat and orbited by the sun just "seconds" ago. It should be very interesting to see how the new "discoveries" and trains of thought bring to light the technology to actually begin to scratch the surface of intergalactic space travel.

Remember when the first computers were huge warehouses full of analog tape machines recording magnetic data? Now look at your cell phone, you would probably need to use all of the square footage of the earth filled with those machines to do half of what your phone does. Look at what 50 or so years of tech has done to every aspect of the things we make. It's funny, not much other than guitar amps have stayed so close to their original form. Musicians, no wonder the rest of the world thinks we are off our nut

I dont know whos worse the Dalek or emma without a tooth.After this we went to the skatepark and Emma had a head on collision now the wobbly tooth is still intact but she now has a split lip.Poor girl
