Welcome Mario - I like the photo with iconic halo, although the RIC copy may make it slip a little.

Welcome, Mario! :D

OF course, your halo is not a fake, as oppose to the hanging fake!

Welcome to the forum Mario.
I don't know if you realize that your Rick copies infringe on RIC trademarks that they defend quite aggressively, as they should.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

I don't believe it's illegal to just build one for yourself, as long as you don't sell it an all that. fair use and all the other buzzwords lawyers like to use.

I really like the Cream looking 4001 with the black guard! I guess when you buy a white one, you actually get 2 colors over the years!

Nick, you build a copy for yourself, you die, then your heirs want to sell the copy. That is the problem with copies no matter the intentions.

I'm sure if I were to build me a 2008 Corvette out of parts and have the sheet metal made for it, I could do so...

And GM would be coming after me for doing so too.

I could be legally able to build one in my state, following all the rules of a manufacturers title, insure it properly and everything all legal.

But

GM would still have the right to protect their IP (Intellectual Property) and trademark designs and sue me thusly.

"The Lemmy's" is an Ibanez, I have change only the neck by one whit my custom Headstock, Hipshot bridge and SD pick ups,

"the Big Blue" is little different by Bridge, Headstock and pick ups.

It's a problem?

It's a shame you guys have already turned this thread into a copy discussion. Feel free to scare off any and all Ric fans as quickly as you can.

Welcome, Mario. :)

Only if you intend to sell it! If it's for just you don't panic about it to much.

A big welcome Mario!
It's a lot of fun here and be prepared for a lot of differing views on various subjects. We have specalists of every aspect of Rickenbackers and even a few fans of the fake ones (although they usually tread fairly lightly)

You are, of course, correct Wes.

Mario, the 4001 is beautiful. We're glad you showed us. Please feel free to ask any questions and join our discussions.

We are thrilled to have you here.

Have you registered the 4001 on the Registry? You can register it here.
