My new 660/12 case has a very minor flaw in the lining that makes me a little nervous:



See how the fuzzy lining is pushed down right next to the aluminum frame by the bout? I'm worried I'm going to prang the body against that lip causing a chip and spontaneous explosion of creative profanity.

Any ideas on how to best deal with it? I know Ric doesn't warranty their cases, and it's minor anyway.

I'm thinking I may be able to pull the lining up and glue it to the aluminum, kinda like doing a Joan Rivers facelift?

The lining is not supposed to cover that lip on the aluminum; the lip interlocks with the matching channel on the top half and renders the case rigid.

Yes, it is possible to nick a Rick on that edge...I've done it once or twice. The fix: be careful when putting it back into the case.

Paul, the lower edge is supposed to be exposed in that one place of the case? I'm not talking about the upper lip.

My 650D case isn't like this...

Ah, now I get your meaning. Ken...yes, that lower edge should be covered. Pull it up and glue it back into place; if that's not possible, cover the edge with some self-adhesive black Velcro tape (the fuzzy side), which you can get at any hardware store in small packages.

My 320's case does that too. It happened gradually from repeated use and was aggravated by the fact that it's one of those really tight cases. It's a kind of Riverdance operation to get it in and out, and that spot takes the most abuse in the process. It's fine, though, once properly ensconced the little shorty does not move, ever. Period.

Mine's the same way, Kira - once it's in, there's no way it can get to the exposed metal. I'm more worried about takeoff and landing!

I'll try the facelift.
