How much to fix up my '76 4001?

Post by grahambo! »

Hi. Bought my first Rickenbacker last year. It's a (very) beat up '76 4001 bass. The finish was stripped off, and the neck was cracked at some point and then repaired. It's pretty beat up, but I enjoy playing it. The appearance doesn't bother me too much, but I'm wondering if a skilled luthier could put a new nut in and fix her up a bit more. She plays well, but I think it could be better.

I know you'd need to see pics and blah blah, but off the top of your head, how much does this usually cost and who could I send her to?

Graham, if you look through my posts (at least a few dozen) in this topic section, you'll notice that I do not quote prices here. I think it's bad practice. However, if you drop me an email to the address listed in my profile, I would be glad to respond.
