Opinions on this SVT rig

This is the rig I've been selling all my stuff to buy. It's unique as you can see, and I just love the look. Curious as to your opinions as to what you think it might be worth. The guy listed it on Ebay, and took a significant chunk off the price because he was offering free shipping, but I am driving to pick it up tomorrow.
He had made a claim on Ebay that the head was made for the Rolling Stones, but they only purchased two of the three units made, and this was left over. Ampeg told me that this amp was made in 2004 but, it was made as a small run for Bass Northwest. Without looking at the Ebay auction, considering it's in fine condition and comes with road cases let me know your thoughts..Thanks a bunch!

Here's some other pics...I do love the look, and understand some premium is placed on the color. It's perfect for my needs now.

Still trying to do research. Now I found an article from Ampeg that they auctioned off what they described as a "one of a kind" White rig like this for a lucky band on the 2005 Warped Tour...Guess I'll never know the true story

It's not called a "fridge" for nothing!

Marc, this may be the RI circuitry that is supposed to be a copy of the early heads. The early ones that are sought after. IIRC, they were specially made in the USA. Where's Bob Young when you need him?!

No, this is the modern SVT-CL circuitry; the one that is a reissue of the early '70s is the STV-VR.

Nice choice on the bass Jeff...would be a dream come true...
Yeah, this head is model AV, what ever that means. Apparently for whatever reason, they don't make it anymore.

Go for a vintage one......about '71 to '80 were the Magnavox ones which are generally considered the best. About '69 to '71 would be the early ones with the 6146 tubes...they sound great and are more aggressive and put out more power, but can be less reliable sometimes. About '81 to '85 are the MTI ones from Japan. These have the original circuit still with the early ones even having American transformers instead of Japanese ones and the 12DW7 tubes instead of 12AX7's. I have a very early MTI one that sounds great and has the original 12DW7 tubes. Bob Youg has q few of the Magnavox era ones I believe. I saw one the other day at a local store for $2000 for the head.

That was sweet! Too bad you got outbid on it. Oh well, look at the bright side, at least you don't have to lift it! I can't imagine how heavy that stuff would be in flight cases. Whew, eat your Wheaties before lifting that piggy

Actually, I didn't get outbid on it. What happened was he agreed to sell it to me for a better price because I was coming to pick it up. The auction offered free shipping. I was on my way to get it, but had a problem at the bank. It could have been worked out but, he mentioned that in the morning someone had actually hit the BIN and he was going to have to tell the guy he couldn't have it. Once he told me that, and I realized either myself or the winner of the auction was going to get screwed, I backed off. The karma wasn't right at that point.
