Yeah, I wonder too. I mean, it is obviously a Rick "tribute" but maybe not enough to matter. Also, a model that is not even produced anymore.
But who knows?
Does look interesting!

It's "Rick-reminiscent"--and an attractive instrument--but not a direct copy. And although he hints at it the "R" word is nowhere to be found in the listing.
Closest thing is the shape of the guard--and it's no real contest.

That name sounds familiar. Ex-employee? Rick phreak?

That does look kinda attractive, and will certainly appeal to many. The color is real close too.
Now...If you could stick a RI HS in it...

I like it, except for the tuners, which should have shorter rods.

I note that the body shape and headstock shape and pup assembly are quite different to a 4000... I'm not sure there are any actual infringements - which is extremely clever as the intent as a tribute is obvious.

I think he's clearly okay. If it had the RIC TRC shape, or the horns or headstock had a hint of cresting wave, then there would be trouble. Besides, I imagine that by now the RIC police would have gotten it pulled if they had a problem with it. I think it's really the gold backed lucite and fireglo that drive the "tribute" point home anyway.
I really like it. If I were a bass player, I'd gladly drop $800 on it. I've seen some of his other builds, and he's definitely a talented guy.

I like the shape, it's kinda like a 325 mated with a 4000...

Very retro looking. Don't sound half bad.

He's just east of Columbus, somebody down there should go check it out.

Thanks for all the compliments!
That bass is a close as I'd go without expecting (and deserving) legal action.
I'm not an ex-employee, just a Rick phreak. Combos mostly.
