BOTS

Post by Bighouse »

Spooky. When I go to the "who's online" link, I can see that there are MSN [bot], Yahoo [bot], Google [bot} and probably others in some of my favorite forums. Is there a way to show (publicly) the statistics of how many users are online typically during the day and also include the bots in some statistical analysis?

I think it's cool that bots are online and reading our forums, adding tags and such to their search engines- makes me feel like we're part of the whole interweb thing...but I also know how persistent the bots can be in adding inflated counts to REAL statistics.
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

Actually, the bots make up quite a minute amount of traffic compared to actual surfing of real people.
So long and thanks for all the fish!
