Ashdown cabinets with 4003/4004 basses

Post by Aussiericlover »

I have just bought an Ampeg SVT3Pro head and am looking at Ashdown Cabinets ABM410T & ABM115 to go with the head. I have a 4003 and 4004Cii and was wondering if anyone has experience with this combination. Otherwise does anyone have experience with Ashdown cabinets? How do they compare with Mesa's, GK's,Hartke etc? All views appreciated.

I don't know much about Ashdown cabinets, but congrats on the Ampeg SVT.

I recently managed to engage in an e-mail conversation with Steve Hanley (ex-Fall and all round legend), in which he told me that he uses an Ampeg SVT, and has done so for the last 15 years. So you're in good company! :D :D

The two Ashdown cabs you described are exactly what I have. They sound GREAT. The fifteen is really clear for a fifteen, and the 410T sounds utterly fantastic--sharp, clear, and keeps up marvelously well with the Ric. I switched from Ampeg to Ashdown because I thought the sound was richer.

Hi Brett,

I'm using the smaller Ashdown 15 cab with my battered AC50 and it sound great. Light too, and light on the wallet as well....

Check the Bass centre here in Melbourne, they had a whole bunch of Ashdown cabs they got very cheap, even inc. shipping it may save you a bundle, not sure what they have left though.
