Help me with a fair price for a 4003

Hi guys, After trying to trade my Midnight Blue 4003 with no luck, I am considering selling it. It is a 2007 model in mint condition. The case has some scuffs, but nothing too egregious. What would a fair selling price be? Prices are all over the place on ebay for these. I want to get either a 660, 660/12, or a Ric mandolin with the money. I have posted pix on another thread. I want to be fair and not ask too much. Is there at least a range of prices you could give me? Thanks for your advice.
Geoff

I'd say between $1400.00-$1500.00 would be about right. Start it on Ebay with a price of .99 (to get the bidding started and lower your listing fee) with a reserve of $1200.00.

Thanks for the advice. I am still not sure if I want to sell it. I appreciate your help.

Save, don't sell.

Hmmm. Could you elaborate on that? Why not? That's why I joined the board here, to discuss and listen to peoples' opinions.
Cheers,

'Cause virtually everyone that sells one regrets it eventually...

Yeah, me too, I still regret selling my old '74 4003MG, still looking for it just in case it shows up some day...

Yeah, I can say that about pretty much everything I have ever sold.. This would be a good new thread. What is the thing you most regret selling? I may not sell it, but we will see. Thanks for the input.

I can understand that, as it would have been the earliest 4003 ever made!

Keep it!!

When I bought my most recent purchase, an ex-demo 2008 4004 cii, I was going to sell my first Ric, a 2003 4003.

I did advertise for about a week, had a near bite, but it fell through. :(

I took that as a sign to keep it! TBH, the more I stared at it, the less I wanted to give it up - kind of an emotional attachment.

After many years as a drummer on the side, I elected to finally give that up instead, and am slowly selling everything. I don't feel bad letting that go, but the Ric was, for me, irreplaceable.

Same request for a 4000. Looking to sell my Fireglo 4000 and I have no idea what it will bring. It's in very good condition. All original hardware. Common dings on the body bottom and one on the fret board. I've owned it since about 1979. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please don't advise me to keep it. I'd rather let somebody else enjoy the music. Thanks folks. Been reading Rick Resource for a while. Just joined.
