I just landed one of these beauties in Fireglo off eBay. Are these instruments fairly rare or do most owners just hang on to these great guitars.

They're not exactly rare, but there are fewer of them than the 330 or New Style 360 models.
People do hang on to them; I have three of them, and will have a fourth soon. the WB and it's earlier 21 fret predecessor 360 OS are one of the most iconic and coolest looking Rick models ever in my opinion.

After spending the first week with mine, there is no way I would let this guitar go. I love the 24 fret early 90's neck, and you cannot beat the look. Although it took me a few minutes to get used to the body size (I am used to 620, 660 and 350 bodies which are MUCH smaller). The WB model is one very fine bit of craftmanship.

I agree with Paul's opinion on these.

Congrats Ron, beautiful guitar!
I was in my local geet shop a year or so ago, just to buy strings, and they had a 360WB 12 FG on the counter being restrung .
But it wasn't for sale.
Was pretty bummed for a few days afterwards, should have got the owners number, aahhh!!
I prefer the 21 fret models but i wouldn't turn down one of these beauties!

I have a 1988 Fireglo 360WB that I bought when I was 16...back in '94. I sold my dispicable Les Paul & an accoustic 12 & paid the rest to the penny with all the change I could scrounge. I have never found her equal. I did exactly what you are proposing and added a middle pickup. I had 3 Ric HB's installed & used a push pull pot to activate the mid pu. It needs to be rewired & I'll make a post about that insanity.

Mine's an 85 360-12WB mapleglo, special ordered new. I will never part with it. But I have to admit I still love my dispicable Les Paul also.

Gordon, welcome! That is a very unique Rick. Any chance of seeing some pics? Besides being musical, we are very visually oriented here!
