RRF Youtube Connection

Have any videos of you ripping that fantastic bassline out on your Rickenbacker? Original material maybe? Want to impress others with that cover of your Lemmy riff? Submit the link to your file to a new Youtube group created just for RRF- point your browser to:
http://www.youtube.com/Rickresource
With permission from the RRF admins, I'll be moderating the group, but just wanted to encourage bassists join that group, pitch in and post links to their vids.
I'd like it to be an organic endeavor, and I'm new to Youtube groups, but I've tried to keep it as open as possible for all to join and post material. It isn't meant in any way to take away from RRF, but instead as a way to simply place all interested members vids in one location so we can all enjoy each other's endeavors and talents and, hopefully, learn from each other along the way.
And, I apologize if this seems crass or like I'm cross-posting (which I will be to some extent!) but I want to make sure that even those who don't frequent the Rickenbacker General forum are aware of the RRF-Youtube connection.
Sincerely,
Robert

Hey, I think this is a brilliant idea. I'll contribute once I get a way to record video (none yet).

Congrats, Harry, on being the first. Love the tone you're getting in that clip.

Okay, I joined. How do I make my videos transfer over there?

Well, having never done it myself I'm not quite sure! But, I believe that what you must do first is upload the video to your own channel. There's a big yellow button in the upper right corner to do that. (Hint: There is a great "help file" youtube video on the finer points to uploading your video- whether it's viewable by the public, just your friends- whether you want to allow people to comment on it, etc...that file can be found here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=9w-gQAwS2uc )
Once you have your video uploaded to the YouTube servers, you then use the "+ SUBMIT A VIDEO" little blue button just below that to submit your uploaded video to the group. You need to know the URL of your uploaded video, but that can obtain from when you uploaded it in step one.
At least that's the way I THINK it works- others who have done it already can probably explain it better.

Just so our RRF members are aware the RRF admin group have not formally approved any connection of this project to our forum at this point. We are still considering this proposal and will advise what our position is as time permits.

Brian,
I understand your perpsective. And, as I've told you and other admins I will be happy to surrender ownership of the Youtube group or abandon it if you wish. I just really thought there NEEDED to be a centralized video location for us Rick-o-philes. I only made the modest connection (name and link back to
www.rickresource.com) to help encourage membership in RRF and to allow RRF members to feel that the forum was, indeed, created specifically for them.
Sincerely,
Robert

Robert, thanks for understanding the importance any other website site associated with the RRF keeping the same standards of class, decency and courtesy as the RRF.
