Today at Epcot in Walt Disney World, a Beatles Tribute band called "The British Invasion" were performing. I actually got a picture with them in their "Ed Sullivan" suits.

They are (real!) Rickenbacker users! "John" has a 325JL (with signature guard removed), "George", a 360/12V64 and
"Paul", a 4001V63. Unfortunatly "John" told me the 12-string and the bass were at the shop for new strings "an' all that", but normally they would have been in use for (12-string) "A Hard Day's Night", "I Need You", "Things We Said Today", "Help!" and "If I Needed Someone" and (bass) the "Sgt. Pepper"-"Abbey Road" eras. "Paul" even said the 4001V63 is one of the best basses he has ever played.

They were a fun little band, and quite nice to talk to. If you're in Disney, they are something to see!

Graham Griffiths and I, along with the Vascos, Garners, and Cabibes, took in part of their show on the Monday after the SERF confluence this last March. Like much of the Disney/Epcot attractions, they put on a high-quality but rather brief performance. I think they played for no more than 20 minutes, then disappeared for the rest of the hour, then came on again. I suppose that's how you entertain the maximum number of people; keep 'em moving on to the next attraction. Enjoyed them, though.

I've seen this act many times on my many visits to Disney World. Always a fun time with their selection of Brit Invasion tunes with the look that they put together. It seems like there are maybe one or two core members of the band and that there is at least one or two personnel changes from visit to visit. Sounds like they've changed their instruments too...it's usually Epi Casinos and Gretsch with a Hofner bass.
