Cool Jimi story

I had the best cab ride today, because the cabbie told me a great Hendrix story:
It was during a free concert in Golden Gate Park that my cabbie had the luck of confronting Jimi as he left the stage. Completely surprised and at a loss for words, the driver could only mumble, "Wow, man, you sure play nice guitar". Jimi looked him over for a second and replied, "I don't play guitar. I play amplifiers.", and walked away.
Cabbie got a nice tip.

Nice story Kira. I'll be turning 50 in a few months and in my 50 years here on the earth I've never ridden in a cab- can you believe that?!? I envy you cityfolk at times!
My father had a funny story for me once. He was a salesman for a moving company and met with a customer out at a house in the Thousand Oaks/Westlake area of Southern California. When he walked through the house he couldn't help but notice all the recording equipment and gold records and awards on the walls. My father, not into rock and roll at all, said to him "You seem like someone important- should I recognize you?" The customer laughed and said "Well, you don't but your kids might"...My father came home that day and asked if I knew a group named "Yes".
He told me, then, the guy's name but it was long ago and I've forgotten the details. Must have been in the early 80's- I got the impression it was a lead person for the band (and not an engineer, etc.), since the customer commented that he was recognizeable...anyone know where the bandmembers lived in the early 80's?

Yep, post that story in the Yes section, I'm sure someone ther will know who that would have been at the time.
I never rode in a cab when I lived back in Illinois (32 years!). Did milk a cow on more than one occasion, though.

I have ridden in cabs and never milked a cow. So, do we have some sort of corollary between cabs and cows?
