New strings new problems on a 4003 ( help for settings)

Hello everybody,
The first tone problem was totaly solved with a genz benz that I absolutely love with the rick :)
Recently I have changed the strings to put the cover back on as i nearly play on the neck itself with the pick (no need to take it off) . I had the original rickenbacker's (1 year old many on/off the bass ) strings that I quite liked and had an old set of d'addarios that I've put them then on
The set sound much much more brilliant . I was quite happy with it but a lot of fret buzz (that i didn't have at all with the ricks) anyway the d'addario were not in good shape so I thought no problem i'll go and buy a new set tomorow wich I did today.
I got a set of ghs boomers 45-100 and the sounds is the same as the d'addarios superlight but nicer feeling for the fingers . But I still have that awfull fret buzz when picking wether I play on the bridge or the neck. My first toughts are a settings issue the second is player issue ...

What I have done so far:
-the neck is as straight as I dare tighten the trust rod following joeys website for the rick settings (very well done by the way) by pushing the 1st and last fret i have like less than 0.5mm space on the 9th fret
-the action I have tried several heights . The one joey advice was the one I use to use (3/32 on the 12th fret) but I went as far as 3.5mm a little improvement but really not worth the pain on the fingers
-I have put red felt tip (white board pen like) on the fret and played the strings/fret that buzz the most (5fret on the D string and the 7th fret on the A) and looked when the string touched . The string stouched on all the fret with no exeption (at least the fret are dead flat :) )

Could you please help me ? I don't know what to do really , or is it a player style problem and nothing much to be done ?
The buzz noise doesn't go through the amplifier a lot but can be heard sometimes

Thank you very much in advance

Do you get the same amount of buzzing if you play with a pick?

I barely get any buzz when playing with fingers even hard.
With a pick I get buzzes especialy the two middle strings. I have to play really soft not to get any buzzes

Could be a technique thing… but something still doesn’t sound right with the setup. I’d get a straight edge and check the neck for flatness. Do this between each pair of strings. Get the neck as flat as possible. As you adjust one side, go back and check the other. If an older bass do the pre bend as described in Joey’s site. I wouldn’t worry too much about the buzz from the bass alone, only that which makes it thru the amp. The Ric bass is known for its ability to growl – maybe just cut back on the Tone knobs a little???

Thanks for the advice I have checked the frets on the rickenbacker although I have some little issues with some bit not being perfect on it things like fret are perfectly straight and very well done .
I am posting because I have just found something rather interesting . I use to play with a 0.88mm pick (completely flat plastic) couldn't find it this evening so took another one a 3mm bone material and no buzzes at all even played hard :) I can also feels less energy wasted into the strings bouncing about (the flat plastic tends to try and pull the string when played fast) so I think It's ok now :)
thanks again :)
