Hibernation on a bed of packing peanuts (probably pretty comfortable):

Oops! Some "trouble in transit". A textbook case of the ol' SKB smashed-foot.

Brought her out to the screen house for an evening photo session. This is some seriously RED Fireglo. I love it! Dig the groovy "one-side" flame maple:

One of the most subtly striking features of the Cheyenne, part deux - the m/w/m sandwich (sounds a bit like a dirty craigslist posting):

I had forgotten how light these basses were! I picked up my Precision right after lifting this and there had to be a pound and a half difference there.

She obviously looks great, and is a knockout tonally as well. The bridge pickup is surprisingly "burpy" considering its placement. I initially found the neck pickup a bit lacking, but this is due to it's low height. If Shane approves I will raise it up to make the levels more even. The action is a smidge high but this is to my liking (not many others).

What's yer bag, Shane? Clank or thump? Would love to put together a quick vid or some sounds clips for ya, depending on how you want to hear the bass. 8)

NIIIIICE....Shane you're a lucky man! :D

Great pics John...you're dead-on with the description, particularly about the weight. Maybe not as light as a feather, but pretty dang impressive. And oh, that growl! 8)

Firstly, I must thank John for generously helping out. It is very much appreciated. :D

Well it certainly looks beautiful, very red; the Wildwood pics showed it a being an "orangey" type FG like my 620. Nice flame as well. I love nicely figured timber, whether it be floors, furniture or guitars.

Feel free to tweak it as you wish John, as for clank or thump I'm not fussed, as long as you know it's a Ric. Just have a play with it and whatever you find acceptable is OK by me. :D Sound clips or a video,if you have the chance, would be great.

Now I have to start thinking like a bass player !!!!

Three months and one day to go

Hummm... Looks REAL familar! Makes me want another Cii as well, and I've only had mine a week! Congrats, Shane - that is a great bass, and you are going to love it. Its very cool to see more & more players discovering these relatively unknown and "under the radar" basses. Welcome to the tribe!
