I'd just like to express my appreciation to all the UK members for providing the tops in entertainment value for the RRF. Not to slight anyone else (especially our Aussie and Canuck cousins), but this place would be a lot less warm and funny without your inspired collective wit and enthusiasm. Well, done, chaps and ladies! :D Keep the good times rolling along!

That's odd because us Brits feel that we are normal and that it is the US members who say/do bizarre things which we find funny. :D

I have one of those in a small collection of international coins. Always wondered what it was. An uncle of mine who was a visiting scholar overseas brought it back with him and gave it to me.

They were known as thrupenny bits, (the name is now Cockney rhyming slang for, err, well, you know!).

Nope. Happens to be a Dutch dude name of Menno Simons, a subject of professional, and intellectual interest to my uncle.
