Wow! Very cool! There's that 'click' line that shadows the bassline. Cool if it is the RIC 4001 bass. Almost sounds like he's running stereo to get the click. Even though it is said that McCartney used a Jazz bass on "While My Guitar..." I always believe that it was his RIC 4001 bass because of that higher clicking sound of the bridge pickup. Who knows?
BTW, anyone ever see cetian footage of Roy Orbison's band doing "Pretty Woman"? The bass player is playing a RIC 4001 and holding in somewhat diagonally. Wonder if that's what's on that great record too?

YEAH! Check out the bassplayer's stance with that RICKY at about 2:00 into the video. THAT'S TOUGHNESS! Wow!

That is always a great b/w clip.
The big O, classic song, and one of the best early sightings of a Ric bass.

Both great clips of great looking basses.
Also a great example of making an impression just by the way you wear your Rick!
Its sometimes hard to define what gives the click on those old 60s tracks.
I read an interview with Carol Kaye who said that on some 60s sessions there might be upright doubled with electric bass and sometimes there would be "tick tack" bass played on a baritone guitar over that.
Talking of 60s bass sounds I always liked the sound of the bass on "Matthew and Son" by Cat Stevens and "Everlasting Love" by Love Affair.
Another "diagonal" Rick player.....

Definitely cool Orbison video! I've gotta say, ol' Roy was a lot more animated in the old days, he was actually moving a bit!

The diagonal bass is cool too...

if the camera focused on just the bass player and the audio just the bass line, i would've thought that the video was from an 80s band in the shoe-gazing scene
