Just returned from my McCartney NYC weekend. As you could imagine we had a great time!

We were very lucky to have 15th row center stage seats for Friday night! I didn't need to look at the big screens we were so close - it was great! It rained most of the night Friday but that didn't even matter. From the moment he stepped on the stage everone on the floor stood up and never sat down again for the entire night. The band was amazingly tight and McCartney's voice was stronger than ever, unbelievable!

Two changes to the set list from Halifax, Dance Tonight replaced MoK - disappointed that another tour and no MoK again! Iguess I'll need to head north or across the pond next time if I want to hear that song live. The second change was the addition of I'm Down which was done in memory of Shea he just belted the hell out of it - the place went crazy! Wix nailed Lennon's solo, even throwing in the elbow.

On Saturday night for some reason when he did Here Today he got real choked up at the end, he even apologized for it at the end of the song - I wonder what he did on Saturday to stir up those emotions!

Bill Joel joined the band for ISHST on Friday - favor returned.

Two splendid evening that simply flew by!

WOW,

Can't add to that Andy!

Thanks for posting!

I know we're not getting any younger, but I'm so grateful many of my favorites are STILL touring and making music.

Glad to hear your report, Andy. Looking forward to the Fenway show.

I would say 3x18 and a single 1x15 w/ 2x10.

Those 18's are indeed impressive. Rock the house! Hopefully Fenway will stand up to it.

Great Show on Saturday night. Could not have asked for more perfect weather.
Macca was in great voice. In fact, I think he sounded better than he did in 2005.
Surprised that he played electric guitar for Paperback Writer. Nice to hear Day Tripper.
Something new for a change!
If you haven't seen him, do it now! Highly recommended.

This is what Macca uses, along with a 2-15 cab. No 18s in this rig, no bigger than 15s.

Well, I'd be inclined to defer to what you say, Jeff, but look at these:
(see opening post; I tried to link to it; no dice.)

Seriously? Those are 15's?

I don't recall ever seeing Mesa use 18" drivers in any cabinets.

Using the grill mesh as a guide, the bottom speaker is 15 squares across, the larger speaker, upper-left, is 10 across, and
the two smaller speakers are 6 across.

If the squares are 1 inch across, we're looking at 15, 10 and 6 inch speakers.
If they are 1.2 inches across, we're looking at 18, 12 and about 8. Which makes more sense? :-)

Looking at a couple other cabs online, that are labeled 1x15, the squares are about 1" in size.

Here's a "just in case" follow up post;

Seeing as these Mesa 1516 cabs generated a bit of interest when this thread was still "warm", I thought maybe someone on here might've ended up being interested in an auction like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/PAIR-Mesa-Boogie-Ba ... 286.c0.m14

A pair of 'em... in those "roadready" enclosures... for what may end up being an astounding price!
