So I'll be getting the 3rd (unloaded) cabinet in a few weeks, and I'm going to cut a new baffle and mount some neodynium speakers, put real castors on it and have a gigging cabinet. The problem is... what to put in it?!

Some things you all should know beforehand:

1. I play in the loudest band in canada.
2. I will probably make it a stereo cabinet to plug 2 amps into it.
3. My current cabinets are: 60's traynor 2x15, 80's traynor 2x15, 60's Sunn 4x15 (and the other 2 rickenbacker 30's)
4. Dimensions are approx. 40"x30" for the baffle. The cabinet itself is 43"x33"x18"deep.

Current thoughts include...

9 10's
4 15's
6 12's
4 12's + 2 15's

And I think I could maaaaaaaybe squeeze:
8 12's
4 15's + 2 12's
12 10's

Ideas?

8 x 12" sounds really cool. I'm personally not too fond of 10". But if I where you I would calculate the right (size) speakers for the cabinet. Just putting some speakers into it could sound horrible in the end.

Personally, I'd cram in a Richter Laser Death Ray. It's the only logical choice.

Doesn't anyone remember the homebuilt "Sweet 16" speakers of the '60s? A flat panel housing 16--5" cheapo speakers that was featured in Popular Mechanics and had quite a following back then. Large sound from humble beginnings.

What, ya can't find any 30" speakers anywhere? You aren't looking hard enough!

It would make a swell salt-water aquarium!

I don't have any suggestions for what you can put in it, but I am suggesting that after whatever you put in it, you put it in my basement

Just remember: The larger the speaker, the slower the recovery. This translates into more bottom end.

How about a television screen or an aquarium? Gotta save those ears........

You could put flashpots in it, like Rick Nielsen does.
