Macca Citi Field reviews with incorrect info

Here are some examples of wrong info written by journalists reviewing the Macca shows at Citi Field:

NY Daily News: "As a further reference to history, Paul brought out a special guest at one point - Billy Joel, who last summer closed down the crumbling Shea.
Together they performed a song from the '65 performance, "I Saw Her Standing There."

BEATLES NEVER PERFORMED THAT SONG AT SHEA.

NY Post:"McCartney and his devoted audience -- 55,000 strong --
McCartney treated the audience to a soaring rendition of "Blackbird" which he stripped to a solo ballad arranged for acoustic guitar and voice."

CITI FIELD SEATS ABOUT 45,000. HAS THIS GUY EVER LISTENED TO THE BEATLES VERSION OF BLACKBIRD?

USA TODAY: "McCartney played just one song, Highway, from his most recent album, 2008’s Electric Arguments (recorded under his alias, The Fireman)."

I GUESS HE THINKS "SING THE CHANGES" IS SOMETHING ELSE.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY "And, from this video below and reports from some of the 55,000 who attended the rain-soaked show,

ONCE AGAIN. CITI FIELD HOLDS ABOUT 45,000 AND MANY SEATS WEREN'T EVEN SOLD DUE TO BAD SIGHT LINES.

I laughed out loud reading the NY Post quote about Blackbird.

Almost any of us Boomers could do a better job, as well as anyone who's a real Beatle Freak, or a fan of Sir Paul's could, too. sheesh!

This stuff happens a lot, mostly as a result of the panic rush to meet a deadline, causing reporters to not have time to check their facts. In fact I notice this sort of thing occurring all the time in the news, it just becomes more obvious when you know your subject like some of us obviously do.

I once worked for a small newspaper which sent the editor's daughter to Little Feat concert. She raved about Lowell George's performance -- he had been dead for three years.

Were people on the field? There are 45,00 seats in the stands but they probably had seats on thei field, right? How many seats cold they put there. Just a thought.

As for Blackbird, he isn't entirely wrong. There was whistling like a Blackbird on the Beatles version. :D

Come on Brian: Don't give me that whistling ****. It's always been an simple acoustic song played by Paul.
The guy was just plain wrong and probably never heard the song on the White Album. To strip that song down any more would be to not even sing or play on it.

The seats on the floor were more than nulified by the seats that were not sold in the stands because of site line issues.
I'd say 45,000 tops.

It would have made more sense if Paul had played "Can't Buy Me Love", as that was a song he/they did at Shea.

That's ok, everybody has selective recall...sometimes.

I saw Paul last weekend at Piedmont Park in Atlanta-he mentioned that "Today is the 45th anniversary of when we played Shea Stadium in '64". They actually played it in 1965, and he was THERE!

Proving he really did experience the 60's.

Easy, Gary. Notice the smiley face? I was being sarchastic. I am very aware of what Blackbird is.
