Nah, that's not hippy music! I'd call it sort of neo-primitive groove/trance/rave music. Speaking as an old hippy, I find it kind of like one long intro, just a little bland for my taste, but not unpleasant. But I'm probably missing part of the equation ...

Nice, ...I guess. Wasn't quite sure what the point was. One long intro....yeah, I'd agree with that. Not quite bland enough for "Music From the Hearts of Space" but almost.

They're what you'd call shoegaze, Kira. The quintessential shoegaze band was My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive were right behind them IMO.

I remember Shoegaze as late 80's and LOUDER. This must be nu-shoegaze, or sandal-observing, or slipper-regarding, flip-flop-watchers, or summat like that.
This song is really a gem, if you like space rock, you gotta check out souvlaki.

I believe the correct spelling is hippie. The establishment, Sears and Dragnet spelled it hippy. Thank you and watch the brown acid.

Ride was the second group of shoegazing. I know one of the guitarists played a Rickenbacker too.

I think they eventually morphed into Mojave 3, and by then it was so ethereal, listening is like trying to pick up a puddle of liquid helium.
