New 325C58 in CA--deep discount

Guitar Showcase here in San Jose has a new JG 325C58 for sale at deep discount. It's been there for a quite a while--the past several months at $2500. I recently bought another Rick there and the manager, Dan Aronie, asked me if I was interested in the C58. I told him no, but I might know someone. 
Dan wants to get it off the rack. He is "motivated" and mentioned $2k to me. There is one small snag--he recently discovered that one of the pickups isn't working. He hadn't opened it up yet to fix it but was planning to look at it. It's covered under warranty, too, so not that big of a deal. I imagine its a loose wire or a short at the hot connection on the back of the pickup.
