Great to see Mike Mills playing this bass!

that's the rem i loved,jangly chordal guitar,busy melodic bass lines.....that (bolt-on necked) bass still has a lot of the sound characteristics we love from rickenbackers......

And proof that southern music didn't have to be derivative of Skynyrd! REM could have chartered a more interesting course through their career, but the Fables/Reckoning era output is peerless and original.

200 series bass, actually. A 2030 JG, yes?

And is Peter playing a 320?

I agree with that, a 2030 probably with humbuckers.

You're nota-whistling Dixie there.I recently acquired a nicely yellowed white one and it has quickly become my main weapon.It'll be going out on it's 4th gig tomorrow night.

Thanks SO much for posting that. I have seen pictures of Mike playing a Ric bass, but never seen video of it. I have also never seen the Michael Stipe shorn hair look either. Thank you, thank you, thank you...
