The Grapes Of Wrath

This band was quite big in the Vancouver (B.C.) music scene in the mid to late 80's. They did alot of touring in Canada as that decade went along and into the 90's. Though they're often thought of as a Vancouver band they're actually from Kelowna, B.C. which in the early 80's was quite a different place than Vancouver was. In the mid 80's (sometime ? haha) myself and another guy organized a concert in a Vancouver highschool. These guys were one of the three bands we had booked.

I guess they probably would've done the U.S. college tour scene at some point as well. They have many videos on YouTube if you want to hear more of their stuff. I've forgotten how talented these guys were. I like rediscovering music just about as much as finding new stuff. I hear they might be getting back together for a limited tour of B.C. this September.

No Rickenbackers in these two videos

My band at the time opened for them several times in Victoria, as well as Tom's subsequent band Ginger, who were also very good. He is one of the few guys who looked cool with a Hofner bass (well, maybe one other guy I can think of).

Thanks for sharing, Shawn!

They definitely had it going on. I wonder why they didn't hang in there (or have they?) I like their style. 8)

Nice blend of 'old school' with a modern feel. Thanks for sharing, Shawn!

Great sound. A shame they weren't more well known.

These guys have recently reunited over the last year and are playing shows all across canada now it seems. Pics posted all over Facebook show the lead guitarist using his old jetglo Ric 360/12 and the bassplayer is playing a jetglo 4003 and C series 4001C64s, pretty cool.

I didn't listen to/watch the second and third vids (I wanted to see some Ric action), but I did watch the first one. That's some good sounding power pop, and ncie sounding guitar tone. 8)
