Pick-up Question..

I will admit that i am a new Ric owner after trading an old SG for a red 1990 610. I have no idea about Ric-ups. My question is: Can i replace the bridge pick-up with a humbucker type pick-up without any routing or major alteration? I want to keep everything Ric but i want a fuller sound without trading guitars or screwing it up.

Yss, you can, as toaster, hi-gain and HB-1 pickups are all the same dimensions; all you need to do is unsolder and resolder the leads, the rest is just removing and replacing the mounting screws.

You may want to ohm out the stock hi gain pickup first. (it should read 10.5 to 11.5k) they are plenty full sounding when working correctly. I've gotten some with bad solder connections and they sound weak and thin.
