I see these listed on Rics website. Has anyone tried them? Any opinions?

Round Grounds? Are these like the D'Addario Half Rounds? I'd never heard of round grounds...I have a set of Half Rounds on one of my non-Ric basses. I like them. They aren't as mellow as flats and have the sustain of rounds.

interesting (but weird),the set gauge is 49-66-72-98.....i have used de'addario grw strings on other basses to good effect...with a more conventional 45-105 gauge....

GHS makes a ground round string called Bass Brite Flats along with compressed wounds called Pressure Wound. They spec their strings from the brightest down as round wound, ground wound, compressed wound, and then flat wound. Here is a description of GHS Bass Brite Flats:
Ground Roundwound Alloy 52 is very kind to your frets and easy on the fingers. The wrap wire is built up with multiple layers and then micro-ground to exact gauge and smoothness...

Don't let the odd string gauge influence you. I thought the same of TI strings until I tried them.
