The Austin newspaper is producing an online report on the "real" instruments The Beatles played, in conjunction with the Beatles Rock Band release, so they called us. I'll post the link when it's done, the mock-up looks pretty cool.

Well, I've got a goofy grin on my face but I still thought the shot looked OK.

Nice shots Ronn.... do you have any other of the other instruments / band members?

The smile is nice. Can't frown when you're playing a Beatles song. :)

Ronn, I just noticed that you string the bass G to E! You're the Albert King of the Bass Set! That is very cool -- I'm guessing that you learned on a righty instrument turned upside down?

Yep! you got it.
Long, boring story, oft told here but here's the Reader's Digest version.
Senior year of high school(1976) I would crawl out my bedroom window at midnight, run several blocks to a church. Crawl in a back window. They had a 60s Fender Jazz(righty) and Fender Bassman. I would play it upside-down till around 3 or 4 AM, crawl out the window. Run home, crawl back into my bedroom, get a couple hours sleep till my mom would wake me for school. Did that for several months and by the time I bought my first bass I was used to playing that way.
