Always loved these and never ran into one nice enough until recently.

Nice, Craig. It's a V64, right?
Do you know you own my holy-grail 12-string? The CW 12-string...

Nice, aren't they Ken?
Yep Jake....it's a V64.....you just don't see many in MG.

Okay Holy Grailers, a question: Why is a v64 preferable to a mid 60's 360 OS? Why would you rather have a CW than a '65 360/12? We're talking about "holy grail" instruments here!
Regardless, that is sharp one Craig. Gold guards if it were mine.

Answer: It's not.
I say this having owned and sold both. ....heck, I'd love another v64---awesome guitars, great players....but hand me an OS and watch the ear-to-ear grin.
(not meant to rain on your guitar Craig---nice one! They are a bit harder to find in MG, for sure

)
+1 on the Gold guards too. I loves me some MG and gold guards....

The answer is simple: A CW is closer to my budget range than a '60s NS 360/12. Your '66 (with '89 neck) is the best of both worlds, John. If you were to sell it, I'd be all over it (depending if I had the money or not!).

You guys mean something like this? All I had was the pick guard set from a regular 360 and
the TRC from an older 12 string but I think this gets the point across. BTW....anyone have a gold
TRC they are willing to swap for a white one???

Now, all it needs is oven knobs.....
p.s. Amazing guitar. The V64 6 string is definitely in my top 3 Rics.
p.p.s. Will you marry me?

The only "new" ric I own is a V64 12er in mapleglo and I really like it. Soon though, it'll be a V63 370.

Craig, nice guitar. I like the look with the gold trim.
FWIW, here's
an example of the '60s version. I found it on gbase. Way pricey. Some pics:
