What more than the pickguard signature is different on the Tom Petty version of 660/12 compared to a normal 660/12 ?

As far as I know the signature is the only difference.

...and don't forget that the 660/12 TP is equipped with the hotter, 12K Toasters, which in my opinion, is significant. These hotter Toasters provide a louder and punchier bass response without sacrificing the jangly treble tones. I disagree with the folks that say the hotter Toasters only belong on a 6-string RIC.
I've owned both 660's and really prefer the neck on the TP. It has a slim/taper feel to the neck, kinda like the 60's slim/taper neck on a Gibson ES-335. Of course, there are those who like a clubbier neck.
Also, most of the TP's I've seen possess a good amount of bird's-eye maple on the body, which looks quite elegant. The regular production 660/12's seem to have more of a flamed-maple body, and not too much bird's-eye. But again, to each, his own.
The gold guards and gold TRC on a TP is a true Vintage gold....not greenish-gold like the newer 660/12 regular production models.

Yep, all the differences here have been noted.
I love the 660/12TP. I've never gotten to play a standard production 660/12, but the TP I owned was pretty cool. Would love to have another go at one (but if I were to, it'd have to be FG!), maybe in the future.

Yes, it is Jetglo and quite striking with the checker board binding. And to top it off, I got a checkerboard guitar strap to accent it... Steve and Ross were both trying it out at SCARF...
