Going to Texas

As I did last year, I'm taking a trip to Lockhart, Texas with my parents (starting Sept. 1, ending on Sept. 9). My dad's having his annual cattle sale, and we all plan to spend three days in a hotel (with wireless high-speed internet!) and three days out in the hill country. I'll be around Austin the entire time, so, Ronn Roberts, if you're available anytime while I'm there, let me know!

I plan to have a great time. I have a nice playlist done on my iPod;
The Beatles "1962-1966"
The Beatles "1967-1970" (the last three tracks have been replaced with the "Let It Be...Naked" versions)
The Rolling Stones "Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)"
The Rolling Stones "Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2)"
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers "Anthology Through the Years"
The Who "The Ultimate Collection"
George Harrison "Let It Roll"

Be sure to go to C. B. Stubbs Barbeque while you're there. Great food, and music!

Bring a guitar, and pick up one of those Vox amplugs for $40; you can use your IPod headphones with it, and with a line ou/in between your IPod and Amplug, you can play along with all of the favorite numbers you've stored on your IPod. :D

Great suggestion from Paul. If you don't already have one the Amplug is unbeatable for convenience and portability.

On trips I bring my Speedster Travel Guitar. Works out great.
You can remove that COMPLETELY USELESS piece that sticks up<br />there on the left. What they think that is supposed to do, I'll never know.

Wave as you pass Exit 748 in Houston as I'm only a couple of miles north.

When you're in Austin, see if my pal Randy Weeks is playing anywhere. Darn fine song writer.
