Beatles Rockband - new CGI Abbey Road footage

Post by longhouse »

Interesting or not? I was dead set against the Rockband / Guitar Hero nonsense until it spurred my son into discovering great music. I guess kids can discover the greatest music now.

That's a very cool Abbey Road video and a great advertising concept with everyone going in the crosswalk .... the Beatle look-alikes are very realistic other than the Lennon model's beard looks a little more like Harrison's beard looked around All Things Must Pass era, then JL's actual beard circa August/Sept '69 when the famous Abbey Road photo session took place. I have to say these Beatle models look very realistic ....

I doubt they're models. Probably just CGI taken from photos of the era.

Last night on VH1 they had an hourlong "commercial" on Beatles Rockband, but it was cool, cause it was a series of actual Beatle videos/performances featuring the songs to be used on Rockband. My daughter an I were transfixed.

They used a Sullivan performance (strong rockin band, those Beatles), You're Going To Lose That Girl from Help, Hey Bulldog, One After 909 from LIB, and more.

I'd buy Rockband just to watch the cartoon Beatles, don't care about playing the game!

Extremely cool. I watched all the videos - playing Lennon's rhythm part for "All My Loving" while singing is fiendishly difficult. I can just barely manage it.
What really impresses me is how well you play the bass left handed (since I believe I read someplace you're actually right-handed). Unless I'm mistaken, in which case, you still play the bass very well anyway. :)

It's all CGI, they just put my ugly mug on Paul's body. LOL

Really left-handed, just play with the E string on the bottom. And thanks!

Ah, that's right. I mis-remembered. Not switched left-right, but rather up-down. And you're welcome!

Ronn.... that is just too cool for words. GREAT job to whomever did that site.
And you did a great job on SOMETHING.... who's idea was it to meld RockBand and Eggmen?

It appears that you guys are playing Twist and Shout in C and not D .... am I right? any reason for that?

I noticed that, too, and will venture a guess based on experience: It's easier to sing!

I have a limited range with oomph behind it. Many Beatles songs simply are too high for me. If I play almost any of their songs a whole step down, I can at least hit most of the notes.
One band I was in had a great lead singer, but he insisted on lowering the keys into his range. We had to do Hey Jude in E (not F), Run For Your Life in C (not D), Sunny Afternoon in C (not D), Revolution in A (not B). Strangely, we did Twist and Shout at pitch in D! :?:
