I know this probably has been answered somewhere on the forum, but I'm too lazy to research it right now.

The blend knob on my 370-12 is shot. Can someone tell me what is the replacement part (Rickenbacker SKU, please) I need?

All RIC shows in their Boutique are the 5 piece knob sets. SKU 03569 for the modern st, and SKU 03571 for the vintage set. You might call chris at Pick Of The Ricks or one of the other authorized dealers, and see if they might have just the blend knob.

Is it the knob or the potentiometer that is shot?

I looked thru their mailer catalog and it looks like they carry those smaller black knobs: Black without insert P-K344 @ $1.25, or the
deluxe version with the silver colored insert, but no writing, P-K352 @ $1.10 apiece. They measure .78" x .45".

Excellent point... I should have been more clear. It's the pot itself. There's no "blending" — it just goes from what sounds like full-on bridge pickup to full-on neck pickup. And it's very scratchy when turning the knob.

Get some Caig DeOxit and try cleaning the pot. That may restore functionality and keep it original. What year is your 370?

1990. It's actually a "McGuinn overrun" 370-12 — all the features of the RM model but no compressor or McGuinn sig on the pickguard: 21-fret, full-width inlays, square heal, check binding, perfect neck profile. A guitar tech tried cleaning the pot a couple of years ago, but it still never worked right. So I just want to replace it now.

It's a player; I'm not overly concerned about it's resale value.

That one looks like the ones on my little Kustom TR series practice amp, and they are a little different from the RIC knob, IIRC. I'll see if I can get a side-by-side picture of the two.

Thanks John, but when I called RIC yesterday, they told me it was the 07343/330 K pot. Hmmm... did they give me the wrong part to order

RIC probably changed the specs to current inventory as many of the potentiometers have be changed to 330K.

Steve, yeah, RIC changed from the 250k/500k pots to all 330k a few years back. Here is a CTS 500k audio taper solid shaft pot. Part number EP-0886-000
