This Sea Green finish made quite a splash when it was first introduced and was the beginning of a new wave of colours. Thanks Tim.

Yeah, I missed it, too. Perhaps the "other brands" is a subset that doesn't come up when I am in "bass" and search for "Rickenbacker"?
It has the vintage pickups (both) and the old-style knobs, but $2,500 is a lotta shekles.

Yep I would think it is worth about half of that ... plus that color is too 1950's for my taste ...

I think the tone has already been set for the seagreen colour in terms of desirability. This colour seems way ahead of any other Ric finishes in recent years on the want list and is reflected in the asking (and getting) prices...right Tim!! As with the 60,s custom Fender "surf" colours this finish will always have a strong following with values to match...IMO Ric,s best finish for years....Mr Hall hopefully is paying attention.

It certainly is reminicent of the late 1950s car color. But beyond that, it says warmth, vacation, and the Bahamas.

my dad has a 50 something Ford that color ... they used to paint houses that color in the 50's as well ... it's not a color I go for.
some people don't like my 4003 red with black trim either ...

Peter, I,m in Florida so that sums up nicely my correlation with this colour. Plenty of seagreen, teal blue, yellow,s and shell pinks...another custom colour from the 60,s that is valued today as the most collectible/expensive. Not to everyone,s taste, true, but then again the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same ...

I have a Sea Green 4003 and the color is a lot lighter than that, I think the photo is too dark.

Despite the fact I sold mine, I personally I'm a big fan of that finish. And yes, Andrew, the getting price certainly is right!
