Is or was is normal for Rick to use non solid knurled pot shafts in 66?

2 of the 5 (the tone controls) are those knurled gold shafts. Again, Solder joints look untouched and date codes right.

Yup, completely normal, completely healthy, and completely expected.

Stop worrying, Brian.......you have a great guitar. 8)

Completely unmolested, I assure you.

I know I know. I geek out on this stuff.

I really like learning little details about Ricks and Vox's.

I ordered some stuff from Rick. Richard helped me and was excellent with answering my questions.

I'm not sure for guitars, but 60's basses have the brass colored split shafts for volume control and solid silver shafts for tone.

I have the same on my '66 335s: two pots (volumes) have knurled ones, other three (tone and blend) have solid :)

I think they alternated through the years. Either/or. Depending what was available at the time.
My Nov 64 has all solid shaft types.

I think mine is the same, but it has been a while since I pulled it to bits....
I had a 75 4000 that had split shaft pots all round. I wonder if that is the norm?

Eden.

No surprises at this time, as ever!
