Okay...got it Tuesday and have listened a lot...it's my fave Beatle album (I'm 54) and I thought I'd use this as a test to see if I'm gonna get the rest.
Not sure what I was expecting but I'm not impressed.
Yes it's cleaner, the bass is cleaner but it just seems LOUDER and I'm starting to think it was done for the ear bud community...it's too bottom end-y for my tastes...but that is just me...a complete and utter Beatle queer since 1964.

On the other hand, the remastered Big Star box set (I'm as big a Big Star queer as I am a Beatle queer) is so freakin' amazing...the best sounding acoustic guitars ever recorded sound even better. RHINO and Ardent did a fantastic job.

Are you talkin the stereo or mono?

Interesting! Exactly the album I'm thinking of getting - I'll note to share my opinion of the remaster compared to the '87 once I do get it (which might be some time as I'm waaaayyy too busy at work).

Stereo...just seems boomy to me...yet the 87 cd's seemed to tinny.
I'll probably get em all...one at a time...just so my Grandson can have em.

He'll get all of my Fab books, movies on VHS and DVD...albums, cd's, t shirts,beatle boots, Rickenbackers, Vox amps etc...

I got the UK '87 release and imo it's just right - it could've been just a little louder, but not much.

How's "And Your Bird Can Sing" remastered? Or "Tomorrow Never Knows"?

Will your grandson be able to use VHS tapes? Or DVDs?

Read my thread. You can definitely tell that it's two Casinos through a Tone Bender. Bass is louder, tambourine is louder, vocals are cleaner.

I looked back at it and noticed I didn't review "And Your Bird Can Sing", but it'll give you an overall idea of what the first seven albums are like remastered.
