I thought I would plug my band's gig here. Come hear the magic of a 4004Cii TG with chrome hardware played through a Mesa Boogie M6 Carbine combo. I'm in charge of the band's e-mail blast, so here we go......
Good day, friends, and welcome to the latest dispatch from Velvet Marias World Headquarters!
Saturday night, we return to Grandpa Eddie's Alabama Ribs and BBQ in the West End. It's one of our favorite places to play and the fine establishment has received many deserved accolades with respect to the quality of dead animal flesh it serves. Speaking of death, it appears that September 19th has been an oddly prominent date of death throughout history. We hope this is not an omen for our performance. Observe.....
* In 1881, President Garfield finally succumbed to injuries associated with lead poisoning. Sadly, many rounds of lasagna-based therapy were to no avail.
* In 1945, Lord Haw Haw was sentenced to death in London. Insiders reported his repeated refusals to marry Lady Hee Hee was the cause.
* In 1995, Orville Redenbacher passed away. A potentially awkward moment at his memorial was avoided when it was discovered that these words were etched on the bottom of his coffin: THIS SIDE DOWN
Join us Saturday night at Grandpa Eddie's at the corner of Cox and Three Chopt. Bring the kids! No cover, 8:30 pm! We'll be featuring songs from our debut cd, coming soon to a cd player and/or ipod near you!
