A drool-worthy specimen. Built in '64, factory reconditioned in '91 (with a letter of authenticity from RIC).

Sheared off? Yikes. Makes the little ding I put in my Gibson SJ seem trite by comparison.

:D

Bummer.

I'm afraid to ask how much they want for a '64 12 string that is 1/2 not original...

Shame too, the neck is the most important part of a 60's Ric, and I'm sure it has a chunky reissue neck too (and a square neck heel! Egads.... ).

Love the quilted back on that one though!

ps...doesn't JB have a re-neck similar to this? I'm amazed the factory used to do service work like that. Them days are loooong gone.

Prolly a V64 neck was used from the period. IIRC they were asking around $6K for this guitar the last time it was discussed.

Any guesses for actual value?

I'm saying $4000 max. The most important part of the guitar, as has already been said here, is gone.

I'd actually go lower---- $3500ish in this market.

The only reason it'd get more than a standard N.S. 360/12 is that it's a '64 and highly figured........but without the neck, half it's value goes right out the door.

$3500 lands it right around the CW model prices, which is basically what it's similar to now.
