Most excellent. One of my favorite Paul bass lines. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice indeed! I was going to put some new strings and play my Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar today...but after seeing that I postponed that plan and and was inspired to pick up my old 4001 bass instead. Such is life

Nice work! That's definitely one of Paul's best. Is the recording you're playing to without the bass line and vocals from Anthology?

It's a bootleg that's not publicly available of the song without the bass or lead vocal overdubs and is at the original speed before the track was slowed down. Someone I know dug it up a while back. The 4003 has Pyramid Flats on it.

wow-very nice, wes! that was rather breakneck sounding,at that speed! i never realised that the song was conceived at that tempo, and slowed down for the recording! cool trivia! that was always one of my top five favorite basslines from paul.....

Perfection, Wes! Awesome.
And that Beatles' Rain video is my fave of their few vids. George looks totally hip.

Never heard the song before Wow. OK; you're young (and that's not a bad thing!). But this track totally demonstrates the genesis of modern rock bass playing. Macca blew the doors off of convention with this. And Wes; fantastic rendition. Had me hooked after 2 seconds.

Sorry, I'm not and probably never will be a big Beatles fan, but I can respect and appreciate them. Personally I just can't get into the sound of the finished music with some pleasant exceptions. Wes' example of the bass line here, however, is really cool to me, and that's the level on which I tend to appreciate the Beatles... The individual parts are often quite tasty, even if I don't like the resulting song. But it's all relative and I know that. For me the "revolution" happened with Miles Davis and his contemporaries in the mid-to-late-20th Century moreso than in any rock band of that era.
Regardless of who likes what music, props to Wes for this nice recording. I think it speaks nicely both of Wes and of the Beatles that a non-Beatles fan can appreciate this performance of an apparently classic Macca bassline.
