If you want Beatle instrumentals - there's a few instrument-only takes on bootlegs.
I think Help! Take 5 is my fav (according to my iTunes it's also the one I listened to most).

Yea, but you still get "ghost" vocals from the reverb.

"Flying" was written by all four of them for "Magical Mystery Tour", featuring John on his Mellotron.
"Cry for a Shadow" was written by both John and George. The guitars used were not their at the time main instruments ('58 Ric 325 and Futurama), but two Gibson ES-175's with Bigsby tremelos both owned by Tony Sheridan. George used his Gibson amp, and John used his tweed Fender amp.
