JB2 vs Diamond Comp

Yesterday I took delivery of a JB2. After trying every possible variation with it (360 MG 12 with 12Ks) I sent it back. I am glad that some folks get on with it but I found the following:
- the comp regtular circuit did not give that much more "crush" and hang time than the natural tube comp I get with my recently tuned up Crate Vintage 212 combo.
- the treble boost circuit gave a bit more top end but, oddly, not as much as the old (no longer made) Boss EH 2 Enhancer I have been using which is basically a completely non- coloring
frequency "sweetener".
- the JB2 does give off a low hiss telling you its on and the boost seems "ready" to feed back when my RIC is in front of the amp. The Boss Enhancer when on is dead quiet.
Anyway, I was curious if anyone here ABd this with the Diamond Compressor which I have heard some great things about. But in some ways, I actually think that the Enhancer is
already doing what I was expecting the JB2 to do "more" of. Any thoughts? Steve Lasko makes a great product, but like Dorothy in Oz, maybe I didn't realize what I already had until
I had a chance to not have it (on) briefly.
Happy Fall, Everyone
